How to Cure the Common Cold

Blog

There are so many remedies to cure the symptoms of the common cold. Naturally, we take over the counter meds and drink plenty of fluids. But, what if your common cold is spiritual? What if your symptoms aren’t a runny nose, congestion, sore throat and sneezing? How about anxiety and doubt being the culprit to your spiritual cold? I can honestly say I’ve found ways to avoid the natural cold; yet I have fallen victim to the spiritual cold often.

Over the past couple of years I’ve developed a severe case of anxiety. For some odd reason I completely have melt downs about something that may or may not occur. Heavy breathing, chest pains and seclusion immediately overwhelms me. When these attacks began to occur frequently I knew it wasn’t normal. When it appeared that I had no control over them; I went to the only person that could assist me, God. The remedy was quite simple actually and I found it in the book of, Proverbs 12:25

“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.”

After, that I started attaching myself to people and things that can drop positive seeds in my life. You would be amazed how far and between I have anxiety attacks now.

When anxiety settles in it’s usually the undertone to doubt. I had someone ask me once, “What if every doubt canceled out God’s blessings?” Whoa! I can’t afford for that to happen. I need my blessings and all its entirety. From that moment on I watched carefully my thoughts and words. I just can’t afford to cancel out anything that was promised to me by God. It might not look the way I wanted but it definitely doesn’t mean it won’t turn out the exact way God planned it. Hebrews 7:7 reads,

“And without doubt the lesser is blessed by the greater.”

Just like the natural cold the spiritual cold can’t be avoided at times. A few over the counter remedies should get you back to new in no time. A lot of prayer and some word will always do the trick.
