What Sun?

Blog

As God fearing people, we so often feel like we are forever walking in the shadows of the glorified sinners. The saying, “When it rains it pours” can so often be the backbone of murmuring and complaining. It always seems like the ones who fear God the least gets ahead. Nowadays, it’s so easy to get caught up into this “social media” life where we only broadcast the good. The art of making people believe that everything is more than okay is a breeze. If only we could remember: People aren’t what they post.

Going through my own personal trials and tribulations I would find myself very confused on how people who don’t think once of God can get far in life. Why is it that they are getting blessed to fulfill the devils work? I wrestled with this question daily. I searched high and low for the answers lol I even started asking Pastor friends. What I found blew me completely away. There is two sides to a coin. One side is blessings and the other is judgement. Regardless, of who you’re serving there is a time of blessings and a time of judgment. Ironically, both sinners and saints broadcast the blessings and never accept the struggle.

Just about everybody’s dream is to be successful. In whatever that is you have those that will do any and everything to reach that goal. I personally had to take a step back because I was seriously becoming one of those people. I saw myself betraying values and principles. Asking, myself one question: What Sun? Being in the sun publicly isn’t worth throwing my principles in the shadows. Joshua 1:8 reads,

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; mediate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

The key words prosperous and successful is what stood out to me. I can’t stray away from my beliefs to be in the sun.
